Mussaurus
The Mussaurus lived early in the Triassic Period at around 215 million years ago. It was a herbivore that was predicted to be no larger than 10 feet long, but due to the fact that only juvenile and infants have been found of this species, in Argentina . The name Mussaurus means "Mouse lizard". The reason this prehistoric creature was given this name is the fact that the Fossils that were found were only 9 to 16 inches in length. Knowing this it's not possible to determine of the actual adult size of the Mussaurus, but it did have a lot of distinctive features. The creature had very large eye sockets, a small head and neck, five fingered hands with a large thumb claw |
